There are many ways you can help raise awareness and funds for War Child

Forthcoming events

If you'd like to organise an event to raise funds for War Child, please contact your state coordinator. War Child Australia is a small, all-volunteer organisation. We rely on the goodwill of supporters to help us raise awareness of, and funds for, War Child's work around the world.

Prayers For Our Planet: We are all the Same

Opening Friday 12 October 2007 6-9pm, exhibition continues until 3 November 2007. Gallery hours: Wednesday – Saturday / 10am - 4pm.

Brisbane-based artist Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox supports War Child Australia with this exhibition, pledging 9% of the proceeds of sales during the exhibition. Read more about Kathryn and her art on her website or blog. Kathryn has travelled extensively and enjoyed conversations with people from many parts of the world. These conversations and experiences inform Kathryn's art. Kathryn says, "“During my travels I have come across people who carry childhood memories of war. I hope my contribution will give children affected by war some experience of peace.”

Join Kathryn at the opening, or alternatively hear her speak at the PeaceMAPP workshop at the University of Queensland's Australian Centre For Peace and Conflict Studies. The title of her presentation is Art, Artists + Conversations = Peace Talks? on October 16 2007.

Past events

July 2006 A Midwinter Night's Dream, an auction of artworks inspired by childhood dreams of more than 20 artists and celebrities, was a great night and a fabulous fundraiser, with more than $22,000 raised for War Child's field work. A huge thanks to all at the Brisbane Advertising and Design Club (BAD), who organized the event in support of War Child.
