Big Night Out
War Child Australia was registered in July 2002. Our first
challenge was to launch Big Night Out, the latest
in the series of Girls' Night In anthologies whose
royalties have raised millions of dollars for War Child projects
around the world.
At the same time, we were excited to announce that Melbourne
woman Joanna Francis was War Child Australia's first field
worker, leaving for Herat, Afghanistan in November 2002.
Given that we really hit the ground running, it's no wonder
the Big Night Out launch events around the country
went off with a blast! These pictures were taken at the Melbourne
launch at the Rose and Crown hotel in South Melbourne.
