2003 Events and Fundraisers
Thank you to everyone who has put time, effort and money in organising a fundraising event for War Child Australia

2003 calendar of events

Throughout 2003, many and varied events raised awareness of War Child's work, and raised money to support War Child field projects:

  • Students at the University of Queensland held a ball to raise funds for War Child Australia.

  • Kids Night In, the latest in the Girls Night In series of anthologies, was launched in Australia.

  • Three Newcastle women arranged a huge concert to raise funds for War Child.

  • A panel discussion at the Melbourne’s Writers Festival raised awareness of the child victims of war, and raised funds as well.

  • Students at Victoria's Sunbury College held a 'No-junk-food-a-thon' to raise funds for War Child.

  • Tasmanian Dance group The Nothing Yet Dance Co donated proceeds from their Hobart fringe festival performance of The Great Leap Nowhere to War Child.

  • A Gold Coast restaurant that was closing down held a last dinner and organised a raffle with proceeds donated to War Child.

  • The Frank Theatre Company collected donations for War Child at its 2003 productions.

  • Big Brother contestant Leah nominated War Child as the recipient of auction money from her treasured item.

  • Staff at the Melbourne office of ManageSoft Corporation held a Bake for War Child event before Easter, and donated to War Child rather than giving Kris Kringle gifts at Christmas.
