2003 calendar of events
Throughout 2003, many and varied events raised awareness
of War Child's work, and raised money to support War Child
field projects:

Students at the University of Queensland held
a ball to raise funds for War Child Australia.

Kids Night In,
the latest in the Girls Night In series of anthologies,
was launched in Australia.

Three Newcastle women arranged a huge
concert to raise funds for War Child.

A panel discussion at the Melbourne’s
Writers Festival raised awareness of the child victims
of war, and raised funds as well.

Students at Victoria's Sunbury College held a 'No-junk-food-a-thon'
to raise funds for War Child.

Tasmanian Dance group The
Nothing Yet Dance Co donated proceeds from their Hobart
fringe festival performance of The Great Leap Nowhere
to War Child.

A Gold Coast restaurant
that was closing down held a last dinner and organised a
raffle with proceeds donated to War Child.

The Frank Theatre Company
collected donations for War Child at its 2003 productions.

Big Brother contestant
Leah nominated War Child as the recipient of auction money
from her treasured item.

Staff at the Melbourne office of ManageSoft
Corporation held a Bake for War Child event before Easter,
and donated to War Child rather than giving Kris Kringle
gifts at Christmas.
